George Key: Virginia Soldier and Missouri Pioneer

An unaccounted for Key in early Goochland County was William Kays, who brought a court action against William Mayo in 1735, charging trespass.1 Col. William Mayo was the county surveyor of Goochland and patented land on branches of the Rockfish and on the James, adjoining Dr. William Cabell, his first cousin, in 1738.2
